Who is Natalia Kavale?

I am Natalia (Lola) Kavale, the founder of Kcopyeditin Mate. I live in Walvis Bay, a small, beautiful city on the coast of Namibia near Sandwich Harbour, where the Atlantic Ocean meet the Namib Desert.

By day, I’m rescuing academic papers, children’s stories, business documents, and résumés from the clutches of typos and tangled sentences.

By night, you’ll find me in bed, flipping through the pages of a mystery thriller, a romance novel, or a self-help book. I read with a critical eye (as a professional book reviewer) and a curious heart, always ready to unearth what makes a story sparkle or stumble.

I also enjoy Spanish-language music. Okay, anything Spanish-language, really. I speak three languages: English, Spanish (well, I understand more than I can speak), and my native language, Oshiwambo. I'm also learning Korean (on my own), and I'm failing miserably.

I love English grammar. And I love correcting errors. I'm a bit of a perfectionist, but don't worry, I won't judge you for your mistakes. I'm here to help you improve your text so you can reach your audience with confidence.

When I’m not polishing a document, you will probably find me binge-watching K-dramas (the more dramatic, the better), doing housekeeping work or nannying.  

I did a double major in English Studies and Music at the University of Namibia. I know what you're thinking: "That's a weird combination." I know. It's weird to me, too. In my defence, though, I didn't know what I wanted to study, so I just picked subjects I liked. I figured that after graduation, I would either get a job related to English, or I would become a music producer. Well ... yay me! I did it (not the music producer thing, obviously). 

I also trained with the College of Media and Publishing, where I received a Level 4 Diploma in proofreading and copyediting. I completed a Proofreading and Copyediting 101 at UniversalClass

Oh, I also love eating spicy boiled potatoes, mercilessly. Please don't ask me why. They're just delicious.
